\nIn this video I cover the most notable storm chasing incidents when storm chasers were hit by tornadoes. The most notable is the 2013 El Reno tornado, when 4 different storm chasing vehicles were impacted, two vehicles deadly, one of which was Twistex. Next is the 2019 incident in Kansas when two of Silver Lining Tours vans were hit. The next was the 2023 Rolling Fork tornado when two different storm chasers were hit by the nighttime EF4. And the last is the Lewistown tornado, when two chase vehicles, one led by Tanner Charles and the other being\u2026 myself.

\nNote 1: The tail lights shown in the video are not actually Twistex\u2019s tail lights, those were actually from the dominator. However, Twistex WAS in front of the dominator, but the reason I didn\u2019t use that footage in the video is because it is not available in the creative commons like the footage used in this video.
\n
\nNote 2: Recent research in the Twistex incident has found that they momentarily stopped, and tried to reverse from their position to let the tornado pass to their east, but unfortunately the tornado looped back at them at the very worst moment. This was determined by the timing and location of Dan Robinson\u2019s rear dash cam photo, and the fact that the Twistex vehicle was found in reverse.

\nEdward Hopper\u2019s world was New York, and he understood that city more than most people. He understood that, even though you may live in one of the most crowded and busy cities on earth, it is still possible to feel entirely alone.
\n
\nThis painting, was completed on January 21st, 1942, just weeks after the bombing of Pearl Harbour and America\u2019s entry into World War two.
\n
\nThat\u2019s not to say the war was a direct influence, but the feeling of dread many Americans had, surely infused the painting.
\n
\nAfraid of air raid attacks, New York had blackout drills, and lights were dimmed in public spaces. Streets emptied out and Hopper\u2019s city was effectively dark, and silent.
\n

Amateur photography often unveils a part of family history, but it also gives a fresh view of events experienced by anonymous people.

\nStanislas Antonowicz left 800 photographs of his time in India. In 1930, there were around 350 million people living in India, of which roughly three-quarters were Hindus, a quarter Muslims, and the remainder, various minorities. Less than 100 000 British people were in charge of governing this territory, which is ten times the size of France. There was a rise in nationalist demands among the Indian elite. Armed with his camera, Stanislas Antonowicz, a representative of Michelin in India, would immortalise this crumbling empire. The hundreds of photographs that he took during his trips to India provide a glimpse of a period and a vision: that of an expatriate European in the heart of the jewel of the British colonial empire colonial where the winds of independence were already starting to blow.

\nFor seven decades Georgia O'Keeffe was a major figure in American art. She was a female artist who refused to be pigeonholed. An artist who stayed true to her unique vision and remained independent from all the shifting art trends of her time. Her paintings, now loom so large in the collective imagination, that it is easy to forget just how radical she was for her time.

\nIn 1935, O\u2019Keeffe produced this ground-breaking image. The artist was already known for her series of sensuous flower paintings, but this was different. That year, her life and the type of work she created would drastically change.

\nFor many years I have been interested in the phenomenon of psychological alienation that haunts our modern world. I think it found its clearest expression in the theories of the German-American psychologist, Erich Fromm, who was able to put into plain words the sense of disconnectedness from life felt by many people today. Then one day, while looking in a book at some reproductions of several paintings by the American painter, Edward Hopper, it struck me that here was alienation expressed in pictorial form. I decided then to make a film that would attempt to analyse a number of Hopper paintings in terms of Fromm's ideas on alienation.
